This page covers two different things: the embalses.app website and the Embalses app for iPhone and Android. They do not collect the same things, so they are described separately.

The app

Opening the app for the first time creates an anonymous session: an identifier with no account, no email and no prompt. It is stored in the phone's keychain so the app recognises you when you reopen it. We do not know who you are, and that identifier is not tied to your name, your email or your phone number.

If you accept notifications, we store the push token Expo gives us, whether the phone is an iPhone or an Android, which language you want alerts in, and whether you turned on quiet hours. That is what it takes to send you a notification and write it in your language.

We also store which reservoirs you follow and the rules you set: alert me when this reservoir changes phase, or when it crosses a percentage you chose. Without that there is nothing to alert you about.

The app does not ask for your location, your camera, your microphone or your contacts. It carries no advertising, loads neither Google Tag Manager nor the Meta pixel, and shares nothing with third parties for advertising.

To reach your phone, a notification passes through Expo's service and from there through Apple or Google, depending on your system. That is the route any app with notifications uses.

The website

To learn which pages get used, the site loads Google Tag Manager, which in turn runs the Meta pixel. They measure page views and actions such as opening the chat or switching on a map layer, and Meta may use that visit to show you Carrión ads. The app loads neither of them.

The site does not identify you or keep a session: the anonymous identity described above exists only inside the app.

The chat

If you use the chat, on the site or in the app, your question is sent to Anthropic to produce the answer. We do not send it to Google or to Meta. Do not type anything into the chat that you would not want leaving your phone.

The reservoir data

Readings come from public USGS gauges and the alert thresholds are the ones AAA publishes. They are data about the water, not about you, and they are publicly available independently of this app.

How to delete what is yours

Turning notifications off in the app stops them being sent. To delete the token, the reservoirs you follow and your rules, write to us and we will do it. Uninstalling the app on its own does not delete the row on the server, so if you want it gone, tell us.
